DRM-free available on Apple iTunes Store

apple-itunes-drm-readerszone Apple has planned to expand the iTunes Store by offering eight million of its 10 million songs in DRM-free Format. The iTunes Store is not offering 100 percent DRM-free, remaining 2 million will be available by the end of the quarter required changes have been made. DRM-free tracks from EMI will be offered at higher quality 256 kbps AAC encoding, resulting in audio quality identical from the original recording.Apple is charging 30 cents for each song and allow you to upgrade your whole iTunes library to iTunes Plus, at 30 cents (UK 20p) per song. According to Apple Senior VP,from April the basic iTunes pricing moves to three tiers, 69 cents, 99 cents and $1.29.

Steve Jobs Apple’s CEO said-

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our iTunes customers DRM-free iTunes Plus songs in high quality audio, and our iPhone 3G customers the ability to download music from iTunes anytime, anywhere, over their 3G network, at the same price as downloading to your computer or via Wi-Fi, In April, based on what the music labels charge Apple, songs on iTunes will be available at one of three price points 69 cents, 99 cents, and $1.29 with many more songs priced at 69 cents than $1.29”.
