At CES 2010 MSI showed a dual touch screen Notebook tablet concept device, currently this device lacking a name. It would be available by the end of June 2010 if device feedback is positive. This concept device is powered by Intel’s Melow processor using SSD storage and runs Windows7 as operating system. This concept device also has a virtual keyboard and an E-Book reader.

HTC has unveiled HTC Smart at CES 2010. HTC says HTC Smart is a “new type of Smartphone”. HTC Smart runs on  Qualcomm’s Brew MP mobile operating system. HTC Smart is a compact and user friendly Smartphone centered around HTC Sense , an HTC design philosophy that puts people at the center by focusing on three core areas: Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected.  HTC Smart enables personal customization of each person’s own phone experience.  It also provides a quick and easy way to see what friends are up to via various social networks as well as quickly communicating over the phone, through text messaging or email.

Cowon has quietly entered in mobile internet device market with Cowon W2. It is expected that Cowon W2 would have Bluetooth, Wi-fi and multiple USB ports. Other details like battery life, internal storage size are still unknown. Cowon has already unveiled W2 at CES 2010 but they don’t have any booth to show this device. Cowon W2 is powered by an 1.33GHZ Intel Atom processor and run on top of Windows7.

LG Electronics announced LG X120 Netbook and X300 ultra thin laptop at CES 2010.

LG X300 offer most sleekest and stylish look and feel. The LG X300 is powered by an Intel’s  a 2.0 GHz Intel Menlow platform with up to 2GB memory and a solid state drive (SSD). The X300 ships with a spare 2-cell battery to provide up to seven hours’ operation. It also has 1.3 megapixel web camera and SRS TruSurround HD sound for rich audio. At CES 2010 Lenovo announced IdeaPad U1 industry’s first hybrid notebook featuring detachable screen. With IdeaPad U1 consumers have two distinct PC’s but both of these PC’s can be merged together to share the same processing unit, battery and 3g connectivity options. With its unique detach-and-converge design, users can easily remove the screen to instantly switch from clamshell mode into a multi touch slate tablet. When IdeaPad U1 used like traditional notebooks, the system boasts an 11.6 inch HD LED screen and runs Windows 7 and when the multi touch screen is removed, it becomes an independent slate tablet with a powerful ARM processor, running Lenovo’s customized Skylight operating system.

At CES 2010 Microsoft announced the next version of Mediaroom that is Mediaroom 2.0. Mediaroom is world most deployed Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platform. Mediaroom 2.0, enable service providers to offer on demand on-demand TV services to their existing customers.The same on-demand service can also be enjoyed on Windows 7-based PCs using Windows Media Center and on Xbox 360. Service providers also can offer subscribers access to their on-demand programming remotely using a range of Web browsers running on Windows-based PCs and Macs and, in the near future, on compatible smartphones.Mediaroom 2.0 also adds support for Microsoft Silverlight and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Smooth Streaming for the access and delivery of on-demand content.

Mediaroom 2.0 is scheduled to be available for operators to start testing beginning next month. Mediaroom 2.0 can be deployed by operators as their entertainment cloud powering the delivery of a complete television service, including cloud digital video recording (DVR), on-demand features, interactive applications, and access to both operator-hosted content and externally hosted content such as Internet TV. The operators’ service can be enjoyed by their subscribers on multiple screens including the TV (with Mediaroom set-top box), Windows Media Center, Web browsers (for Windows-based PCs and Macs), Xbox 360 and compatible smartphones.

After the launch of Windows7 it is the largest selling operating system according to Microsoft. Apart from this Windows7 supports more than 800,00 unique applications and more than 240,00 unique devices.
