It has some new features including screen sharing & an integrated Wi-Fi hot spot connector, ability to add your own notes to contacts, Sort and set priorities to chats in the Drawer. This new version will have excellent screen-sharing capabilities to the app’s voice, video, and chat communications features. Skype2.8 for mac means users will be able to run all four channels at once with acceptable performance.

Here I want to discuss some features, Skype Access- its a service that lets you go to any of the 100,000 Boingo Wi-Fi hotspots and Skype allow you to connect to the Boingo hotspot. Another feature is “screensharing” means you can share either your entire screen or just a portion of your screen with the Skype. People could share photographs, and presumably videos as well. This screensharing feature support for Windows and Linux users also.

One excellent feature you will get noticed in the 2.8 beta is the ability to set the priority of a chat session and then sort your chat sessions according to your priority in the Mac’s drawer. Boingo- Its a connector application for the iPhone & iPod Touch available For $7.95 just a month, those users can access the entire Boingo Wi-Fi network.

On Tuesday Google announced that Google App engine are updated by including dashboard to detail system status and billing features. The App Engine System Status dashboard monitors the performance of application components and the Quota Details tool charts resource quotas to let users track how much of the free quota bandwidth, storage and CPU their apps are using.

The main features are -

  • Up-to-the-minute overview of our system status with real-time, unedited data
  • Daily overall serving status for each of our APIs, including any outages or downtime
  • Detailed historical latency and error-rate graphs for the App Engine Datastore, Images, Mail, Memcache, Serving, URL Fetch, and Users components

The company said that- it has launched the App Engine system status site and a quota dashboard to detail items like bandwidth usage and CPU. Google said it also plans a billing dashboard to preview what happens if you go beyond those quotas.

Tom Stocky, director of Google Developer Products, noted in a blog post:

Google will also use this dashboard to announce scheduled downtime and explain any issues that affect App Engine apps. Building in dependencies to third-party services or moving to a new hosting infrastructure is not something developers take lightly. This new App Engine dashboard provides some of the same monitoring data that we use internally, so you can make informed decisions about your hosting infrastructure.
