Today I’d like to talk about the software I came across not so long ago. A friend of mine told me he liked his movie organizer software. I decided to give it a try and that’s what I’ve learnt – my experience, so to say.

That’s multi-lingual movie organizer All My Movies. What is a movie organizer at all? Briefly, it’s such software which helps to organize all sorts of films – DVDs, VHS, Blu-rays. The software includes all necessary info about the films – the genre, release date, the full cast, the directors, etc. All My Movies is available in more than fifteen languages. The major point about movie organizers is that there’s no need to enter any movie info manually – everything is downloaded automatically from movie Internet databases – it seems rather convenient.

What else appealed to me in this software?

First of all, it’s easiness you can’t help enjoying, because everything is intuitively clear where to start and how to continue and when to finish ?
Secondly, it’s view modes available in the program. It has something for everyone – the user is welcome to choose the template, the information depicted on the movie card, etc. Besides, there are cover thumbnails and virtual shelf modes, which make it a lot nicer to work with the library.
Thirdly, sorting and grouping options are rather impressing. Users with thousands of movies in store are offered to sort and group them by various criteria – that’s a real value for large collections I think. It’s also possible to add personal marks and coloured flags and filter the collection by them. For example, you particularly like some films, so, add the mark “My favourite” and filter the collection by it. Done! You’ll be shown only the films with this mark.

Another point to mention is the program’s directories and their potential. I really like working with them. So, the Name directory stores full information about actors, directors from all the films in the library. Each person card has the photo and biographical info, as well as filmography of the actor. And there’re pop-up windows containing brief info and the photo.

Among the most valuable benefits of the movie organizer are also frequent updates, quick responses (usually within 24 hours) from technical support department, so you’re never one-to-one with your problems and speedy fixes of errors, which is also really good. I haven’t found any serious drawbacks of the software. Like any movie organizer using online databases which often make changes on the website, All My Movies sometimes faces problems with those changes, but the good news is that they adjust to those changes rather quickly.

All of your StumbleUpon preferences will automatically load on your phone, so go forth and stumble! You can stumble all topics at once, just like on your computer, or stumble in a particular topic. It’s really easy to to stumble in some of the most mobile-friendly channels we have: Photos, News, Flickr and YouTube. Windows Log-in Using Face Recognition

Are you running Windows 7 or Windows Vista and want to use Face Recognition technology to log-in into your Windows system but Face Recognition log-in natively not supported than Blink might be very useful for you. Blink is a free program that allows you to login into your Windows computer via Face Recognition. Just look into a webcam for a moment, and you’ll be logged into your account before you notice. Blink works on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. It also works 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows7 and Windows Vista.

Once Luxand Blink! is installed, the program brings up the Configuration wizard that enables you to register your face for automatic login to Windows. The user can also run the Configuration wizard by double-clicking the Luxand Blink! icon in the system tray and register the face by clicking the Remember button.

To register the face, you need to follow these steps:

If you want the application to “remember” your face, click Next. If you do not want to do it immediately after the installation, click Next time. (Important! To enable automatic PC login by face, you need to register your face.)

Read the instruction in the next window carefully and click Next.

The program starts the enrollment of your face. Slowly turn your head to the left and to the right, while looking into the monitor.

Once the face is registered, you will see another window where you need to enter the password for your account. Enter the password and click Finish.

Digsby is Now More Social

The latest version of Digsby is released and it will include more social feature like group chat, LinkedIn and MySpace Like/Dislike integration.

Group Chat : Group chat feature allow users to create or join chat rooms on AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, and Jabber. Just click the room list button on the top right corner of the IM window and invite others to the chat. You can also create rooms via the menu: Digsby > New Group Chat.

LinkedIn : Digsby has completely redesigned LinkedIn implementation powered by their new API. You can now do all the good stuff you already do with your other social networks like comment on posts, like/dislike items, etc.

MySpace Like/Dislike : Digsby added Like + Dislike support to MySpace newsfeed items. Since their API doesn’t currently support this capability, the link acts as a shortcut for posting a “Like!” or “Dislike!” comment on the thread.

The Microsoft Drivers for PHP for SQL Server are PHP 5 extensions that allows for the reading and writing of SQL Server data from within PHP scripts. The SQLSRV extension provides a procedural interface while the PDO_SQLSRV extension implements PDO for accessing data in all editions of SQL Server 2005 and later.

The major feature in this release is the support for PDO with a new PDO_SQLSRV driver. In order to support the new PDO_SQLSRV driver to be consistent with the existing SQLSRV driver, the code was re-architected into a core functional layer and an “API” layer above. The SQLSRV driver is built from this re-architected code, and also includes some important bug fixes. This release is available to all SQL Server users at no additional charge.
