Create Websites using Mobile

Create Websites using Mobile We have seen a lot of tools and technologies, to create websites easily, but all these tools require a PC at your disposal. When nearly everything from gaming to blogging is possible using your cellphone, why shouldn’t we have a tool to create websites too. So, Chennai based Akimin Technologies, decided to go one step further than the pack, by creating a tool to design websites while on the move. The service will be started this Independence Day onwards.

Akmin CEO Mr. Prasanth talked about the product with Times of India. According to him, this service will be free of cost. No technical knowledge will be required to use this tool. He also added that in current scenario, mobile phone market is far bigger than the PC segment. That’s why they came up with this brilliant idea.

According to the reports from TRAI, no. of users for GPRS enabled Handsets, is more than 65 million compared to only 14 million broadband users. Soon enough, this number will cross the 80 million mark, as IPhone is about to make an official entry in the Indian market. So, more of PC-specific applications will soon become available for mobile platform too, added Mr. Prasanth.

Speaking more about this application, he told TOI that, this application will require no downloads, and can be directly accessed at Mobisitegalore website. This means to start creating your own websites, you will just need a GPRS activated phone, and nothing else. To know more about the application, you can also visit www.mobisitegalore.com.

Download Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 3.5

The Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 3.5 is the revised version of the original Microsoft Security Risk Self-Assessment Tool (MSRSAT), released in 2004 and the Microsoft Security Assessment Tool 2.0 released in 2006. Security issues have evolved since 2004 so additional questions and answers were needed to ensure you had a comprehensive toolset to become more aware of the evolving security threat landscape that could impact your organization.
The tool employs a holistic approach to measuring your security posture by covering topics across people, process, and technology. Findings are coupled with prescriptive guidance and recommended mitigation efforts, including links to more information for additional industry guidance. These resources may assist you in keeping you aware of specific tools and methods that can help change the security posture of your IT environment.

There are three assessments that define the Microsoft Security Assessment Tool:

  • Business Risk Profile Assessment
  • Defense in Depth Assessment (UPDATED)
  • Mid-Market Security Core Infrastructure Operations Assessment (NEW)

The questions identified in the survey portion of the tool and the associated answers are derived from commonly accepted best practices around security, both general and specific. The questions and the recommendations that the tool offers are based on standards such as ISO 17799 and NIST-800.x, as well as recommendations and prescriptive guidance from Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Group and additional security resources valued in the industry.

After completing an Assessment, you will gain access to a detailed report of your results. You may also compare your results with those of your peers (by industry and company size), provided that you upload your results anonymously to the secure MSAT Web server. When you upload your data the application will simultaneously retrieve the most recent data available. To be able to provide this comparative data, we need customers such as you to upload their information. All information is kept strictly confidential and no personally identifiable information whatsoever will be sent.

Create Strong Password Using PasswordChart

Creating and remembering strong password is really a tough job. Using Passwordchart you can generate a password chart and then use that password chart for generating strong password for simple words.

passwordchart

How PasswordChart Works

  1. An MD5 hash of the chart selection phrase is performed and the first 4 bytes of the hash is used as a random number seed to a Mersenne Twister pseudo-random number generator.
  2. The password chart is then filled using sequences of 1 to 3 random upper and lower case letters and optionally numbers and punctuation by grabbing successive numbers generated from the Twister. The reason for the random sequence length is to make reversing the substitution cipher a bit harder.
  3. The alphanumeric characters in the password is then converted using the chart.

I offer no proof that the method of generating the chart is “secure”. It is really just meant as a simple and fun substitution cipher that will help people maintain a little more secure set of passwords.

ratproxy - Web Application Security Assessment Tool by Google

ratproxy - Web Application Security Assessment Tool by Google Ratproxy is a semi-automated, largely passive web application security audit tool. It is meant to complement active crawlers and manual proxies more commonly used for this task, and is optimized specifically for an accurate and sensitive detection, and automatic annotation, of potential problems and security-relevant design patterns based on the observation of existing, user-initiated traffic in complex web 2.0 environments. The approach taken with ratproxy offers several important advantages over more traditional methods:

  • No risk of disruptions. In the default operating mode, tool does not generate a high volume of attack-simulating traffic, and as such may be safely employed against production systems at will, for all types of ad hoc, post-release audits. Active scanners may trigger DoS conditions or persistent XSSes, and hence are poorly suited for live platforms.

  • Low effort, high yield. Compared to active scanners or fully manual proxy-based testing, ratproxy assessments take very little time or bandwidth to run, and proceed in an intuitive, distraction-free manner - yet provide a good insight into the inner workings of a product, and the potential security vulnerabilities therein. They also afford a consistent and predictable coverage of user-accessible features.

  • Preserved control flow of human interaction. By silently following the browser, the coverage in locations protected by nonces, during other operations valid only under certain circumstances, or during dynamic events such as cross-domain Referer data disclosure, is greatly enhanced. Brute-force crawlers and fuzzers usually have no way to explore these areas in a reliable manner.

  • WYSIWYG data on script behavior. Javascript interfaces and event handlers are explored precisely to a degree they are used in the browser, with no need for complex guesswork or simulations. Active scanners often have a significant difficulty exploring JSON responses, XMLHttpRequest() behavior, UI-triggered event data flow, and the like.

  • Easy process integration. The proxy can be transparently integrated into an existing manual security testing or interface QA processes without introducing a significant setup or operator training overhead.
