Google Earth Plug-in and its JavaScript API let you embed Google Earth, a true 3D digital globe, into your web pages. Using the API you can draw markers and lines, drape images over the terrain, add 3D models, or load KML files, allowing you to build sophisticated 3D map applications.

Its a very large download for a plugin because installation requires a 47 MByte download. Google mentioned that this download contains both the Intel and PowerPC version of the plugin.

A Google representative said-

The size is large because Google provided a universal binary file that runs on both PowerPC-based and Intel-based Macs, but there are also some other space-saving changes that we may look into later on & Google plans to mention the software in a forthcoming blog post.

One suprising thing is none of the top mobile search terms were related to the recent U.S. elections.

Google bot start crawling web pages from top left corner to bottom right corner of web pages. Most Websites that I found over the internet are designed in such way that they have links on the left side and content on right hand side. The problem with this design is that your website links are come first in contact with Google crawler, so website links are get optimized for Google instead of website content.

There are might be one solution for this use links on both sides of your web pages and put content in-between both links. While using this approach put an extra blank pane on top left of your layout and don’t put keywords on this extra pane. When Google bot start crawling WebPages it find that there are no links because of “Extra Blank Pane” so it will start crawling the content and you would get a content rich web page rather then a link rich web page.

This is not the way that all search engines working. These techniques will only optimize web pages for Google. It would be good idea to design web pages in such a way that content is get crawled first instead of any other thing on web pages. If you are not using this approach then, you aren’t giving yourself the best opportunity to rank highly in Google search engine listings.

According to Microsoft, the new version of Live Search Products delivers an improvement in the quantity of images of no less than 9.4%. This means that while the old variant of top results offered 79.2% images, the new iteration goes up all the way to 88.6% top results complete with images

"This update, in addition to continued improvements in our selection from both crawl and the Product Upload Beta, is one example of how we are improving Product Search relevance. This begs the question: how do you measure relevance?" Aziz and Bao asked.

Microsoft revealed that a number of factors are taken into consideration when it comes down to judging the relevance of the results returned to a product search. First off there has to be an inherent connection between the query and the product displayed, one that is immediately visible to the end users, but less obvious to the search engine due to the keywords associated with certain images. The Redmond company added that it is also looking to check whether the results contain images, as these items are preferred by end users, and if the products point to a reputable seller, rather than obscure and untrustworthy e-commerce websites.
