Windows MultiPoint Server 2010 allows multiple users to simultaneously share one computer using multiple screens. Each user individually controls his or her own station with an independent and familiar Windows computing experience. Windows MultiPoint Server 2010 is now globally available to OEMs and will be rolling out to Microsoft academic volume licensing customers on March 1. In addition, Microsoft is announcing new partnerships that create a strong global ecosystem of hardware companies that give customers a breadth of choices to buy and use Windows MultiPoint Server solutions.

Anthony Salcito, vice president of worldwide education at Microsoft Said,

We heard clearly from our customers in education that to help fulfill the amazing promise of technology in the classroom, they needed access to affordable computing that was easy to manage and use. That’s why we developed Windows MultiPoint Server — a solution that meets these needs and delivers an up-to-date, trusted Windows experience.

Bill Rust, research director at Gartner Inc Said,

Shared resource computing can multiply the number of student workstations available to schools, delivering more value while staying within the same budget. Teachers can better align computing resources with instructional strategies while deploying fewer fully configured computers and reducing workstation support liabilities.

NComputing also offer similar kind of solutions to schools and academic institutions using Linux and Windows operating system. NComputing will also incorporate MultiPoint Server across its product lineup. Hewlett-Packard, ThinGlobal, Tritton and Wyse also plan to build products based on the software.

Software vendors, such as AB Consulting, LanSchool Technologies and NetSupport Ltd., will also be developing applications that extend the Windows MultiPoint platform and provide teachers and students with access to classroom management and other education-focused technology.

To run Windows XP in Windows7, users needs a fully licensed copy of Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3). It will be made available, for free, to users of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions via a download from the Microsoft web site.

Windows XP Mode in Windows7 will address compatibility issues that come with Windows Vista and finally Windows Vista users go for Windows XP downgrade options. Windows XP mode is not available in Windows7 beta version it is expected in Windows7 RC1 or it may come with final version of Windows7.

Microsoft Posting on Windows Blog

Windows XP Mode is specifically designed to help small businesses move to Windows 7. Windows XP Mode provides you with the flexibility to run many older productivity applications on a Windows 7 based PC.

All you need to do is to install suitable applications directly in Windows XP Mode which is a virtual Windows XP environment running under Windows Virtual PC. The applications will be published to the Windows 7 desktop and then you can run them directly from Windows 7.

Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC are best experienced on your new Windows 7 PC. We will be soon releasing the beta of Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC for Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Celebrities, U.S. politics and TV shows were among the 10 most-searched terms on Yahoo for 2008. Pop star Britney Spears is No. 1 on Yahoo’s list of top 10 overall searches, just like she did last year, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) at No. 2, and Barack Obama, president-elect of the United States secured No. 3. Singer Miley Cyrus and videogame RuneScape came in at 4th & 5th position.

RuneScape
6. Jessica Alba
7. Naruto
8. Lindsay Lohan
9. Angelina Jolie
10. American Idol

Google’s most popular searches are not available, but Google’s most popular product searches are available. Moreover to that ask.com has also released the top 10 searches on its search engine. The top mobile searches are either for social networks such as MySpace & Facebook, or searches for local information like Craigslist, movies and weather. One suprising thing is none of the top mobile search terms were related to the recent U.S. elections.

Vista Start Menu is the best replacement classical Windows XP Start Menu . Vista Start Menu enables you to access all available applications and files on your hard drive in just one or two clicks. Vista Start Menu is fully compatible with Windows Vista, Windows XP and all other modern Windows platforms. Let’s have a look some of the advantage of Vista Start Menu over other Windows Start Menu

Advantages Over the Windows XP Start Menu: Vista Start Menu offers a way to search programs and applications directly from Start Menu but Windows XP Start Menu does not offer this functionality but Vista Start Menu offers this by Simply start typing its name in the command line and Vista Start Menu offers you a list of related search results. Vista Start Menu is fully integrated with Google Desktop Search and Windows Desktop Search.

Advantages Over the Windows Vista Start Menu: Vista Start Menu offers a way to add or remove items from your drop-down menu list. With this application there is very little or no need to access your desktop so Vista users can use their entire screen to quickly access the contents of hard drive via the menu. Easily switch between users, shutdown computer simply by pressing the keyboard’s Windows key and choosing the button corresponding to the desired action. Large, easily-accessible buttons, recognizable icons, and detailed descriptions all make it easier and more convenient to work with Vista Start Menu over the standard Windows Vista menu.

Vista Start Menu user interface can be easily customize according to your requirement. With the Vista Start Menu interface you can effortlessly add or remove menu items, fully control tabs, select skins, change font size and more. Integrated command line with Vista Start Menu allows you to search through your applications and files – and even the internet – just by pressing the required keys. Vista Start Menu handles the search and provides you with a list of the results. Programs installed within the past week will be automatically color highlighted for easier recognition.

One-Click Program Launch: To start an application in the standard Windows menu, first you need to find the program’s folder, then choose the main file in the sub-menu, and then launch the program itself. Vista Start Menu streamlines this process by automatically searching through the list of programs in the Start menu and identifying the main file. To start the desired program, you simply need to click on its icon. You can enable this feature by selecting the checkbox next to One-Click Launch in the Wizard Menu.

Overall Vista Start Menu looks like a better replacement for Classical Windows Start Menu but Vista Start Menu has to work in the process of indexing information, For a fully loaded 250 GB hard disk takes a sufficient amount of time to index all information. I have tested this application with Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows XP Professional.

Download Vista Start Menu

Amazons is planning to include Windows Server and SQL Server to it’s EC2 cloud services. Currently Windows server on EC2 is in private beta. The big question is, Will Microsoft adopt a true utility pricing model for virtual computers running Windows, allowing Amazon to roll the operating system licensing cost into its hourly fee, or will the Windows licenses have to continue to be purchased separately.? The 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows Server will be available and will be able to use all existing EC2 features such as Elastic IP Addresses, Availability Zones, and the Elastic Block Store. You’ll be able to call any of the other Amazon Web Services from your application. According to Amazon

Amazon EC2 running Windows Server or SQL Server provides an ideal environment for deploying ASP.NET web sites, high performance computing clusters, media transcoding solutions, and many other Windows-based applications. By choosing Amazon EC2 as the deployment environment for your Windows-based applications, you will be able to take advantage of Amazon’s proven scalability and reliability, as well as the cost-effective, pay-as-you-go pricing model offered by Amazon Web Services.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced in London today that the company will unveil its own "cloud operating system" at its big developer conference at the end of this month. According to The Register, Ballmer said:

We need a new operating system designed for the cloud and we will introduce one in about four weeks, we’ll even have a name to give you by then. But let’s just call it for the purposes of today ‘Windows Cloud’. Just like Windows Server looked a lot like Windows but with new properties, new characteristics and new features, so will Windows Cloud look a lot like Windows Server. If you talk to Google they’ll say it’s thin client computing but then they’ll issue a new browser that’s basically a big fat operating system designed to compete with Windows but running on top of it, Our big problem is there’s just no secret that gets kept in Microsoft. The guy in the office next door to somebody working on Midori is not supposed to know about Midori. The last thing we want is for somebody else to obsolete us, if we’re gonna get obseleted [sic] we better do it to ourselves

It happens many times we lose Internet access when waking our system from sleep mode, the network icon shows ‘local only’, then normally we restart machine and restore the wireless link. So first you need to check the life of device driver for notebook’s wireless adapter, it may be older than the machine.

So now you will have to update driver, visit the notebook vendor’s site and get the latest version of the driver, download & update then restart machine. Now put machine on sleep mode for a longtime then wake it up and check at bottom-right corner indicate Internet connection.

For that you’ll have to chose correct way to update Window drive driver because wrong selection may be the cause, if anything happens unlikely.

Guideline for driver update

This may be the batter option for those, who are not able to get updated version of driver from the notebook vendors site for the appropriate update, get your driver from the PC vendor. System vendors often customize the drivers for their machine.

Update driver one at a time, if you try to load several driver at a time then it can create some problem and also bit tough to find-out which one is not supporting or creating problem.

Create the restore point, suppose if anything happens wrong during updating of the driver then it can protect from harm. Windows XP an Vista create a restore point before the new driver installation. For precaution set yourself via system restore with descriptive name in case you forget when and what exactly you updated. Roll Back Driver function under the Driver tab in the Device Manager Properties dialog box. Likewise, run the updates own installer rather than using Properties’ Update Driver button.

Mostly PC users can manage their software updates on their own, through vendors help. You can also update your Microsoft Office automatically via the Windows Update service, and other major applications offer similar auto-update functions. Likewise, Flash, QuickTime, and other media players can be set to update automatically.
