Flickr, the popular photo sharing website added a new feature, that allows users to sign up using their Google Account. For existing Flickr account holders, you’ll still need to sign in with your Yahoo! ID. You can now sign-in to your account without having to leave the page you were on, making it easier to post comments, favorite a photo or add someone as a new contact.

My Cool Fonts Helps You To Create Colorful Email Messages

Yahoo Mail has added a cool font application called Cool Fonts. Cool fonts helps you to create colorful emails. Just launch the My Cool Fonts app from the Applications menu, select a font, type a message, click on “Create email” and voila! A new email gets created, and you can then add any other text or attachments to your illustrated message.

Most of these fonts have its their own set of smileys, which you can browse and easily insert into your message from the Smileys menu. See the whole list here.

Yahoo Messenger Platform is Opened for Developers

Today Yahoo released SDK for Yahoo Messenger, With this SDK developers will be able to innovative applications for Yahoo Messenger. Yahoo Messenger SDK enable developers to use Yahoo Messenger as platform for their applications and services. Yahoo has tried to make Yahoo Messenger SDK as simple as possible. Yahoo Messenger SDK offers REST API, to use REST API all you need is a little knowledge of HTTP and JSON and you’ll be up and running in no time, no matter what programming environment you’re using. The SDK contains all the key Yahoo! Messenger features that you’ve come to expect, including real-time presence, contact-list management, instant messaging, file transfers, and user-image management.

Yahoo has also released Yahoo! Messenger IM SDK User Guide This document provides best practices, guidelines for using the service, Messenger logos (including our beloved Smiley), and test cases to make sure your application is working properly.

Disposable Email Addresses in Yahoo! Mail

Disposable Email Addresses are Email address that you can use in place of your primary E-Mail address. Sometimes you don’t want to share your primary E-Mail address in that case you can use Disposable Email address. Messages to your disposable email addresses are delivered to your Inbox or a folder you choose, and you can simply delete them if they start to receive spam.

If you don’t see ‘Disposable Email Addresses’ as an option in the left-hand menu, you will need to sign up from the ‘Spam’ section of Mail Options. Creating a Disposable Email Address is really very easy. Just click the ‘Add Address’ button at the top of the screen and an easy to follow wizard will walk you through creating your Disposable Email Addresses.

According to Yahoo Mail team following changes are also done

Changes to ‘Spamguard’ settings: In the current version of Disposable Email Addresses (DEA)

You have the option of choosing whether you want to turn the ‘Spamguard’ setting on for each individual DEA. With the upcoming changes, all DEA’s will take the Spamguard setting that you have set up in the Spam section of your Yahoo! Mail Options. That means you have will have one global Spamguard setting for your entire Mailbox and you can control it from one central location. How’s that for easy?

Changes to the delivery options

Now, when you set up a DEA, you have an option to move messages addressed to your DEA to your Inbox or any personal folder that you’ve created. With the new DEA’s you can still do that, but now you will have to use a filter. After you create your DEA, just click the link ‘Manage Filters for Disposable Addresses’. That link will take you to the ‘Filters’ section of Yahoo! Mail Options. Create a new filter, then just put your newly created DEA in the ‘recipient’ field and select the folder you want it delivered to. (Please note: as a consequence of this change you will have to set up new filters for your current Disposable Email Addresses.)

Changes to the ‘Sending Mail’ option

Our current DEA creation lets you pick an option to send email from a DEA. With the new version of Disposable Email Addresses you will now have the option of sending mail from all of the DEA’s you create. When you compose a new mail, you can find all your DEA’s in the ‘From:’ pick-list.

Yahoo has created some handy Shortcuts so you can keep up to date with match scores and World Cup news from Yahoo! Sports and elsewhere across the web. Simply type ‘World Cup’ in Yahoo! Search and you’ll see scores, schedules, photos, and videos in the shortcut:

Once the FIFA World Cup will start, Yahoo we’ll be launching Shortcuts that give you schedules and scores for specific team, group or match. The Shortcut features will be available in 27 Yahoo sites globally. Type the name of the country, group, or match, and you will see shortcuts that look like these mock screenshots below.

Yahoo Toolbar team added some new features that let you show your team pride, and follow all of the latest soccer news. You can dress your toolbar in the colors and flag of your favorite team, search for your favorite team or play, and once the tournament begins we’ll have previews, live scores, and post-game wrap ups for every game. Attach and Send Large Files via Yahoo Mail

Yahoo Mail has added a new application called Attach Large Files by drop.io. By using this new app Yahoo mail users can attach files up to 100 megabytes. You can find the Attach Large Files app in the Applications section underneath your folders. (If you don’t see it listed, you can add it to your list by clicking the plus sign.) To get started just click on the “Attach Large Files” app.

Once Attach Large Files application is added you can attach and send large files via Yahoo Mail. You can send . It doesn’t have to be just one file, you can upload multiple attachments in a single go. Just keep selecting all the files that you want to attach and when you’re ready, click the ‘Upload and Compose Email’. The app will tell you how much more space you have available.

Once the files have finished uploading, the Attach Large Files app will open up a new message with the files already attached. The files will be available for downloading for 30 days after you send them, and your upload history is saved so you can resend again if you like. And you don’t have to worry whether or not your recipient’s Inbox can handle these attachments because the attachment is stored over at our app partner drop.io.

Find Duplicate Contacts in Yahoo Address Book

Yahoo has rolled out a new feature for its Mail service users to find and merge duplicate contacts in their address book.

To get started, when you first open Yahoo! Contacts, just click the link to “Fix duplicate entries”. (There is also a link in the “Tools” button at the top of your contacts window.)

This tool will scan your contacts list and present you with the duplicate entries that were found. To combine the duplicates into one, just click the button ‘Merge all EXACT’ and then “Yes” to confirm.

You can also review each duplicate contact separately, just click the “Next” button instead. A wizard will guide you through the process of merging each duplicate entry.
