1TB Storage by Seagate’s Barracuda 7200.12 HDD

harddisk-readerszone Barracuda 7200.12HD, Seagate has developed a new desktop hard-disk drive that is capable of 1TB of storage space across two disks only. The previous Seagate’s 7200.11 [storing capacity 1.5TB] drive has four disk platters inside the hard-disk means it uses these four disks to store 1.5TB data. But the new 7200.12HD hard-disk store 1TB of data across only two disk platters. Seagate has named it Barracuda 7200.12HD.

Seagate development team has designed in such manner to squeeze 500GB onto a single disk. It’s a 3.5-inch 7,200RPM drive boasts a SATA interface, a sustained data rate of up to 160MB/second and a burst speed of 3Gb/second. Now its available in these ranges 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities.
