256 GB Solid State Hard Drive By Samsung

Samsung Electronics has introduced a 256GB storage capacity compact solid-state drive equipped with a Sata II interface for connectivity and claims that it is the largest-capacity & high reliability  SSD drive  to be offered with a Sata II interface. It is specially & specifically designed for use in notebooks and desktop computer systems without all of its size, noise, power and heating drawbacks. The company Claims that  the 256GB solid state drive is capable of storing 25 high-definition movies, each of 10GB in size, in just 21 minutes.

According to Samsung

The drives combine sequential read rates of 220MB/s (megabytes per second) with sequential write rates of 200MB/s. This sharply narrows the performance gap between read and write operations to only 10 percent, compared to a read-write speed difference of between 20 and 70 percent for other SSDs and erase cycles are 100GBs per minute, allowing the entire drive to be rewritten much faster when necessary.

It can store 25 high-definition movies in just 21 minutes, a significant advancement over a 7200rpm hard disk drive (HDD), which takes about 70 minutes,This single platform is designed to easily adapt to Samsung’s 40 (nanometer) class NAND flash memory

The 256GB SSD speeds data transfer when large multimedia files are simultaneously read and stored. "" the company said in a statement.
