Google has released a new web based version of Gmail for iPhone and Android phone users. This new version of Gmail is faster as compare to older version. Phone users will be notice that this new version of web based Gmail is lot faster when performing actions like opening an email, navigating, or searching. With this new versions of mobile browser Google has shown just how powerful mobile web browser become. With new version Google showed that mobile web browsers are not only being used for browsing web pages but they can also be used for running web based applications.
What’s new in Gmail for iPhone and Android Phones
- Multiple messages can be selected at once and these selected messages can be archived, deleted, and marked as read, unread, or spam.
- Floating Toolbar: When you select a message a floaty bar appears near the top of the screen with options to archive, delete, and more. In fact, the floaty bar stays with you as you scroll through your inbox, so you can easily archive, delete, or view more options no matter where you are.
- Search button is added at the top of the screen that make life easier for searching old emails.

Note: The new Gmail for mobile only supports iPhone/iPod Touch OS 2.2.1 or above. If you have an older firmware version, you’ll be directed to the previous Gmail for mobile. All Android-powered phones are supported. New Gmail for mobile is available for English only.
