Google is no 1 search engine and people use Google’s AdWords program to promote their business. Google Adword can help publishers to get a good traffic as well as good business but not using it properly you may also loose your money. If you are planning to start a campaign with Google AdWords please try to avoid these mistakes.
Turn Off the Content Network Option
By default “Content Network” option is enabled in Google AdWords. This option helps Google to put your ads on websites like About.com, New York Times and many other content rich websites. Advertisers see a high impression and some times high CTR also, but visitors coming from these websites won’t help you to increase your business they are just wasting your money.
Not using Proper Keywords
People often think that using to many keywords helps them to get more number of visitors as well as more business but this is not the case. Targeting a particular set of audience is key to Adword campaign success. Try to use more specific key words instead of general keywords.
Sending Visitors to Your Home Page
Home page has more information as compare to other pages of websites. Visitor coming to your website through search engine is not looking to see all information of your website but he is looking for a specific information or product. So it’s good to send visitors to directly to product page instead of home page.
Using Default “Optimize” Option
“Optimize” option is by default enable in Google AdWords account. This option will enable Google to optimize ads for you. Is it a good idea? No, turn off this option and use “Rolate” option. “Rolate” option help you to test your ad performance in much better and cleaner way as compare to “Default Optimize” option.
Not tracking Ads and Keywords
If you are not tracking ads and keywords then you are wasting your money. Some times you think that these set of keywords will work for you and they don’t. So it’s always better to track your keywords and ads. Google webmaster tools help you to get a daily report on keywords across the globe.
Not using “Conversion Code”
Google “Conversion Code” is simple JavaScript code that has to place in your website’s landing page or exit page. This code show some very useful information including lead counts and tracking on return spent. This information will show up in a column on your AdWords dashboard when you log in.
