Search Brand Name: Microsoft Biggest Problem for SearchWhat’s the biggest problem for Microsoft in Internet search market is the brand name that Google has created. People think like this “Google = Search”. Microsoft doing a lot of thing to create its brand in search engines but not able to create a brand like Google has. Most people think that Microsoft search engine name is “MSN”, most of them don’t know about the “Live Search”, that’s Microsoft search engine to compete with Google search.

Same problem I think Yahoo also facing. One thing that Google do and other companies don’t do is that Google has created its brand by doing some really amazing things while rest of them created their brand name by investing a lot of money in advertising, sponsoring events and doing a hell lot of things. You never find that Google is sponsoring any event.

Microsoft can work on enhancing the user experience as Google has not changed its user interface very much. But a stylish user interface giving wrong results not help Microsoft to compete with Google. As of now Microsoft is totally confused about its search strategy, Microsoft giving cash back, offering you to do some charity while searching on Live Search. All these things can’t help Microsoft unless-and-until they are able to create believe in internet users that Microsoft Search website can you also provide better or same results like Google gives you in a user friendly way.

Microsoft Live Image and News Search can compete to Google’s image and news search. Apart from this they are far behind the Google. Like other companies are far behind Microsoft on Office and Operating systems.

Try to create a Search brand and do some more innovations instead of giving cash and losing your money.
