Microsoft has launched the new Live Search Maps India site with the useful features that are listed below. Now It contains the route map and geographical information for all major cities of India, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur. It will provide the National Road Network of India with more than 20,000 cities, towns and major localities. this map lindicates the important points and locations in a city like historical places, restaurants, hotels, monuments and other main places. the geographical feature shows the connecting national roads network acorss 20000 cities.so this is all about the street map in india.
second feature is search location- now you can easily search particular address, road, restaurant, hotel monument and landmark with in available nine cities. if you search for an address then it will return only the matched part and drop the unmatched part because the details are entered at possible lower level. In the map site it indicate the particular location with the pointer to identify easily. you can also search by shortcut name like hyd for hydrabad , del for delhi, blr for bangalore ans bpl for bhopal like that. to understand better functionality of this map, see examples.
- suppose you are in Bangalore (map area of browser) and search for ‘jp nagar’ will show the jp nagar on the map of Bhopal and other jp nagar(s) in India as suggestions. Location Search is context aware.
- You are in delhi, and search for ‘Bangalore Golf Course’ will result in other golf courses as suggestions with the pointer on the Bangalore Golf Course, Bangalore at their exact position on the map.
- You are in Bangalore, ’10 janpath road’ will result in 10 janpath road, delhii. One need not type the city name while searching for localities.
- Airport, will place the pointer on the Bangalore international Airport, devenhalli, Bangalore at their exact position on the map.
Third feature is Business Listing Search – it will allow us to find businesses listed . Click Business tab and specify what (e.g. hotels in first box) and where (e.g. mg road in second box) then you will get the business listings sorted according to distance from the location of search (i.e. airport, Bangalore). it will return all the listed hotels according to distance, rank, address, phone numbers and other information.
another good feature is Routing and Driving Directions. if you are new in city and always get confused while driving then it will help you a lot, show full route map for driving with the direction. features are –Intra-city visual driving directions , Intercity integrated routing (detailed driving directions inside the cities having Street Maps and normal driving directions on the National map) ,One-click driving directions . Source and destination can be any of it like, city, locality, place and landmark in India within 15KM of distance from any location(road) . select shortest distance and reverse route for driving direction facility is also available in this map.
User can take the print out of the maps, driving directions, route information and other search results also, it is for user convenience. you can create collections of pointer(pushpins), custom drawings on the maps and routing etc. and you can also save it for viewing later or sharing it with others.
