Backup Your Favorites: Make a backup of your favorite websites. Use import/Export Feature of Internet Explorer to Import or export your favorite. To import or Export favorites go to file menu and choose import/ export option. You can export your favorites to a HTML file and then this exported HTML file can be imported to any other computer.
Protect your passwords: If you choose the option of remember password for secure websites then anyone using the same browser can use the saved user names and passwords for accessing secure websites. While using the secure websites just say NO to remember password or disable this feature.Under the Tools menu, select Internet Options | Content, click the Settings button in the AutoComplete area, and uncheck the box User names and passwords on forms.
Turn on IE 7 Phishing Filter: Turn on the IE7 Phishing filter. It will warn you against the fraudulent websites. It will not screen every website to check weather it’s fraudulent or not but scan some of the websites for fraudulent.Be sure it’s turned on. Click Tools | Phishing Filter | Turn On Automatic Web Site Checking.
Improve IE7 appearance: ClearType can improve the appearance of many Web pages. To enable it, click the Advanced tab in Tools | Internet Options and check Always use ClearType for HTML, then restart IE7.
Organize your favorites: Use categories to organize your favorites.Categories makes easy to find and sort favorites.Hold the Shift key while selecting Organize Favorites from the Favorites menu; this opens the entire Favorites folder. Now create folders for each category and drag individual favorites into them—this is much quicker than using the regular Organize Favorites within IE.
Don’t Search by accident: Sometimes when you mistype any URL in Internet Explorer’s address bar, it will try search for those mistype URL’s in Microsoft website.To prevent this, in the Tools menu, select Internet Options | Advanced, and check the option Do not search from the Address bar.
Open Link in new Tab: Firefox has very good feature that when ever you click on any URL, Firefox open that URL in new tab instead of new windows. To open any URL in new tab while using Internet Explore, Hold Shift key while clicking on any URL.
Eliminate Pointless Proxy Search: If you are not using any proxy server with Internet Explore, then why Internet Explorer waste time for searching proxy server. To Eliminate this search go to Tools menu, click Internet Options | Connections, click the LAN Settings button on that tab, and uncheck all the boxes in the dialog that appears.
Set Multiple Home pages: If you like to set multiple home pages, then Internet Explorer also let you do for you.Select a page you want to add, click the down arrow next to the Home toolbar button, and select Add or Change Home Page. Check the option Add this webpage to your home page tabs and click OK.
Remove Auto Complete Items: Internet Explorer store values that you enter on web pages and Internet Explore’s auto complete feature redisplays those entered values when you type some word in web forms fields.If it displays an incorrect or unwanted value (Readerszone? Yuck!), use the down arrow on the keyboard to highlight the offending item and press the Del key to delete it.
Open Two accounts in Two Windows: Some emails don’t allow you to open two different email account of same email provider. Sometime logging to another email account will logout you from the first account. To solve this problem launch Windows Explorer, select Tools | Folder Options from the menu, click the View tab, and check the box titled Launch folder windows in a separate process.
