Working in IT industry is not always very pretty, You may not get always chance to work with new technologies, development projects and some challenging. 40% of IT industry in drive by banking and Insurance sector and most of the development is already done only people work to maintain that software to keep running fine. Maintenance is also very challenging job but there some other worse IT jobs. I find out some seven worse IT jobs in IT industry have a close look to all of them.

Legacy systems archaeologist: You think that COBOL and other legacy systems like mainframes are died but that’s not the story. Sectors like Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, manufacturing and retail are using these systems. The cost of rewriting the code and huge and there is a big risk involve, so organizations using legacy systems are trying to find some other solutions to connect some other systems with legacy systems. There is one very interesting thing about these technologies is that companies are not getting good skilled professional on these technologies, if you are good in any one of them then it’s a very good to earn a lot of money.

Help Desk: Help desk is the job that most IT Professionals hates. End users talking to help desk persons thinks that they are talking to an idiot or being treated like one. As more organizations move to 24/7 operations, they may also need the services of the more specialized Graveyard Support Vampire, who shuns the daylight and lives by the glow of the network console. Lawrence Imeish, principal consultant for Dimension Data’s Converged Communications Group Says

Why this person actually wants to forge his or her days for the joy of nocturnal employment is a dark, dark mystery that shall forever span the vast expanse of space and time,But it’s often imperative that IT folks manage their equipment off-hours so as to avoid impact on day-to-day business activities on their networks. System reboots, patch applications, and troubleshooting also typically occur after-hours and could be a cause for system failure in and of themselves if not properly addressed during the evening hours.

On-site reboot specialist:On-site reboot specialist is closely related to help desk support job.On-site reboot specialist involves sitting in a server room is a closet. Loud, dusty, dingy, and there’s nowhere to sit down. You end up standing wedged between the server and the wall for hours at a time. It’s like flying on a regional jet. Everything about it is uninviting.Worst thing about On-site reboot specialist job is interfacing with the end user.

Datacenter migration specialist: Moving datacenter is dirty job. Some times you have to move datacenter from one country to another in just 48 hours.Unplugging the cables and cleaning the dirt that come over the year is really dirty job and next comes the most worse thing again assemble all these cables to build datacenter again. Most of the time datacenter’s are managed by different consultancies, in house employees and a set of IT professionals. It makes really worse for working with all these peoples for IT Professionals. Good thing about datacenter migration is not done very often.

Sludge systems architect: Technology is now gone everywhere including oil rigs, pulp mills, sewage plants, you name it. Somebody’s gotta clean up the mess and keep the lights on.
