I got this email today. i checked the UP address and it was sent from Lagos Nigeria. especially any email with mispelled words or bad grammer, its usually from another country.

I’ve been receiving one of these emails every week or so for a couple of months. I knew from the first one it was a scam so I set up a filter (Thunderbird) to stop them. It failed. Set up another filter, It also failed. and so it has gone. Please tell me (and I’m surely not the only one with this issue) how to stop them.

I hate the phishing emails these people seem to get more desperate by the day I get 2 or 3 on a daily basis and submit them to phishtrackers a web site I discovered that lets you report them anonymously.

I received the email on Saturday but did not comply. I did a reply asking for a verifiable website and received another warning using broken English. I am not giving my password.

The same thing happened to me! It’s a nightmare, can’t get access to my hotmail email address and the scam artist is emailing everyone in my contacts saying that I have been held at gunpoint and need them to wire me money! It’s sad that in this world people still waste their time trying to get money this way!!

I also recieved a mail of this sort and lost access to my account.
I don´t know if I should register this, (I can´t find where I might register this)
And I´m wandering if there´s anyway of regaining access and control of my hotmail account.
If someone reads this and can send me a link it´d be much appreciated!
