Microsoft Search website Live.com has added pictures to it’s background. These added pictures to live search opens a lot of opportunity to Live Search page to use it for special occasions, users can personalize live search page with their favorite image. Microsoft confirmed to SearchEngine Land that its still in testing, so if you don’t fins any picture while opening Live Search page then don’t worry.

Yeah I read it on Liveside, looks cool though. First offering cash backs then themes, looks like Live is striking back.
It seems to me like they are getting desperate. They are adding stuff which have nothing to do with the main purpose of the site. They should conc on increasing the quality of results instead of stupid gimmicks.
Anyway, even here they are copying Askx.

Ideally, a search engine homepage should be light weight like Google - If this uses images a bg, wouldnt the page be heavy and take time to load.
I personally dont think its a good option.
