Live@edu provides campus-branded e-mail plus access to a collection of services to help students and faculty collaborate on campus, and create a community that lasts a lifetime. Live@edu offers the choice of an Outlook Live inbox or a Windows Live Hotmail inbox. Both e-mail services offer ample storage space; desktop, mobile, and web access; and a familiar interface that students can use after they graduate. The differences are:
- Outlook Live provides students with a more professional e-mail experience, similar to what they may use in the workplace. It also provides IT administrators with enterprise-class management tools, like message tracking and distribution lists, as well as GAL integration for users on Exchange server whether it is hosted or on-premises.
- Hotmail gives students a fun, personalized experience that incorporates with other Windows Live services. As students change their communication preferences away from e-mail toward social networking, this option may help you satisfy student communication preferences.
