Microsoft researchers are working on a new browser project called “Gazelle ”. Microsoft Gazelle architecture and features are really impressive and Gazelle features are not present in any of the modern browser including Internet Explorer, Firefox,Safari,Opera and Google Chrome. Microsoft researchers has published a research paper saying that Gazelle will offer better security as compare to any other modern browser including Internet Explorer 8.

The Gazelle architecture

Microsoft Gazelle will have a completely new browser architecture. Gazelle has multi-principal operating system construction that gives a browser-based operating system the exclusive control to manage the protection of all system resources among web site principals. Gazelle will have its own built in kernel allowing it to operate like an operating system. This means that Gazelle could intelligently identify traffic, and react to anything malicious.

Microsoft Gazelle prototype implementation and evaluations shows that Microsoft can turn into an existing browser into a multi-principal operating system that yields significantly stronger security and robustness with acceptable performance and backward compatibility. he browser is only open for discussion at this stage, and there are no current plans for a release in any form.
