Microsoft has finally start rolling out the support for pop3 access for it’s Email service including Windows Live Mail and Hotmail. With this pop3 support Windows Live mail and Hotmail users will be able to access their E-Mail accounts through a number of E-Mail clients software on their pc or mobile phone.
When you set up Hotmail in the E-mail program on your PC or mobile device, you may be asked for the following information:
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example firstname.lastname@example.org
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
How to Setup Windows Live and Hotmail pop3 account ?

Enter all the details like your name, Email address and password. Finally check the “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”
Choose Email service as Internet E-Mail
Enter pop3 Settings Details
Now you will be able to access the Windows Live Mail and Hotmail via your E-Mail client.
Currently accessing Windows Live Mail and Hotmail via pop3 is only available to United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. Microsoft will be rolling out pop3 access to other countries later in this year
