Video Portal Powered by Microsoft
We all know video sharing website like youtube, Google video and many more. Now Microsoft is also launching it new video portal where you can share,Upload, Search and quick latest videos. Microsoft video portal is developed in Microsoft Silverlight and its in beta phase Microsoft Video portal website says that it is coming soon and will be coming in April.Current url for Microsoft video portal website is http://preview.microsoft.com/video and it will later change to http://microsoft.com/video. It was also previewed at MIX08 and Its expected to go live in April. I will update, once its available, so keep an eye.
Microsoft video portal is in beta phase and will be launched very soon.Microsoft Silverlight is also used to develop the website of Olympics 2008 and now Microsoft using its Silverlight Technology to develop it own video portal. Currently Microsoft share to online video sharing is very less as compare to Google and Yahoo. Microsoft supporting Video sharing through its MSN website but this portal will help Microsoft to catch up these players in online video sharing.

I’m very pleased with the Microsoft’s efforts lately and I love the Silverlight technology.
But…I don’t think that this portal with compete the YouTube of this world. It’s not a UGC platform. Maybe I’m wrong, but from what I read, only Microsoft content will be posted on it.
