HouseCall is an online scanner by Trend Micro. Hacker are now trying to exploit the popularity of Trend Micro’s Online scanner to spread spam and malicious software’s over the internet. Most important thing here is that internet users are redirected to this fake online scanner website when they search “free online virus scan by Trend Micro”.
When users click on this fake online scanner url they are served with fake HouseCall scanner
Also the fake scan also warn user that their computer is infected with malware but actually the fake online scanner is going to infect the complete computer system.
This is not the first time when attackers have tried to use Trend Micro name to spread the spam and other malicious code.
The sites hosting this adware are already blocked by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network.
