Why We buy Security ?
Bruce Schneier, one of the most appreciated security experts in the world, predicted some time ago the death of the security industry and these days, along with the RSA Conference and its security events, it seems he was right. Security is the most important part of IT industry and IT industry is looking for powerful but easy to use security products. Most of the IT companies want to buy some useful products like Database management system, Web 2.0 Applications, office Applications but they don’t want to buy security products. IT companies want security come in products that they are buying from vendors like Microsoft,IBM, Adobe,oracle and many other big names. Let’s compare Computer software security with the automobile industry.
Think about the if you have to buy anti locking breaks, Air bags and other security features from some other vendors apart from which you have buy the automobile.Automobile companies buy all security products assemble them and sell it to the end customers. can this things all possible in computer software.
Most of the time when a software is developed only the functional requirements are considered and not developers as well as the designers think about the security of the product. If security is come in software that we buy then I don’t think that we need any security software.
We always say that Windows is very easy to hack but if install any harmful program on windows operating system,turn off the firewall then any operating system can be hacked. It’s not the windows hacked or their is problem in Windows it’s issue with other programs that run on windows access windows resources and at same time time try to tempore Widows operating system.
