Wolfram research has released a new version of Mathematica for home users called "Mathematica Home Edition". Mathematica home edition contains all the new features and function that can be found in Mathematica 7. Mathematica home edition has a new user interface makes use of Mathematica really easy. Mathematica home edition can be used to monitor the movements of the stars, create interactive graphs of stock prices, manipulate digital photos, or any of hundreds of other activities.
Wolfram research also made a free online collection of Mathematica examples as part of their Wolfram Demonstrations Project. The Wolfram Demonstrations Project contains more then 4500 examples and demonstrations showing how Mathematica can be used in life science, physical science, engineering, creative arts and other fields.
Mathematica home edition will cost you $295 and it is supported for both windows and Apple Mac platform
