Microsoft and WebFusion partnered to provide free web hosting to UK students. This free web hosting gives a chance to UK students to develop web applications using Microsoft development tools and test all their work in real time environment. This free web hosting includes Windows Server 2008, IIS 7, 500MB disk space, 1 x SQL 2005 database Support for ASP.NET 2.0, .NET 3.0, .NET 3.5, Classic ASP, PHP, CGI.
The main idea behind this joint venture of Microsoft and WebFusion to give free web hosting to UK student is that attract more-and-more new developers into Microsoft community. Most of the students don’t go for Windows hosting because there are cheaper options available. Windows Web hosting is far expensive as compare to Apache and MySQL hosting.
