Some days back Gmail has added a feature that will allows Gmail users to send free text messages from Gmail. From Today Gmail users  turn on text messaging for chat. Just click on Settings, and go to the Labs tab. Scroll down until you see “Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat” and select Enable and Save Changes. Currently Sending free SMS from Gmail to mobile numbers is only limited to US Mobile numbers.

Google’s Orkut team has added a new feature to Orkut that is Orkut users can now directly able to chat with their Gmail friends from Orkut. Orkut users will be able to chat with their friends directly from Orkut. Orkut users get an easy control over their Orkut friend with whom they want to chat and add as their Gmail friends. Most importantly chat with all of your Orkut as well Gmail contacts. One more important thing is that now Orkut users can chat as well as browse their friends profile, share photos, write scraps and a lot of Orkut activities.
