Websense security Labs has found that search results on Microsoft Office website can lead to rouge antivirus website. This time attackers targeted Microsoft Office website.
Microsoft sent this message from Jerry Bryant, senior security program manager lead, Microsoft:
Microsoft is aware that some search results on the www.office.microsoft.com Web site redirected people to a malicious site offering fake antivirus software. The redirection to this malicious site was produced after a third party tutorial offered on the site was compromised. The redirection no longer works and Office search results for the affected third-party tutorial have been removed.
Anyone believed to have been affected can visit: http://www.microsoft.com/protect/support/default.mspx and should contact the national law enforcement agency in their country. Those in the United States can contact Customer Service and Support at no charge using the PC Safety hotline at 1-866-727-2338 (PCSAFETY). Additionally, customers in the United States should contact their local FBI office or report their situation at: www.ic3.gov.
Microsoft continues to encourage customers to follow the "Protect Your Computer" guidance of enabling a firewall, applying all software updates and installing anti-virus and anti-spyware software. Additional information can be found at: www.microsoft.com/protect.

As compare to Google Docs Microsoft office has more features at the same time Google Docs offers a better collaboration and sharing of documents. Microsoft Office translator is available for download on Microsoft website. Microsoft Office translator allows Microsoft office users to translate words, sentences or a full document using Microsoft Translator through the Research task pane for Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007.
Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 currently use WorldLingo as the default machine translator in the Research task pane. This download will update the Research task pane registry keys to set Microsoft Translator as the default translator and WorldLingo as the fallback translator.

YouSendIt has released a Microsoft office plug-in that allows Microsoft office users to directly send large files to their friends. This new Microsoft office plug-in allows Microsoft office users to send 2GB large files with few clicks. YouSendIt Microsoft office plug-in works only with Microsoft office 2003 and 2007. unfortunately there is no option available for Mac office users.

On October 2008 Microsoft announced that it’s latest version of Office suite program will also be available from the browser also. The Browser version of office is a light weight version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. Microsoft is using JavaScript/ HTML and Silverlight to deliver Microsoft Office through the browser. As Microsoft Office comes to browser users will be able to create, edit, read and collaborate on Office documents.
This new integration of Office with browser will offer it’s users a seamless, synchronized experience across the devices that they use to work smarter, faster, and better. Office Web applications will make that a reality. Microsoft will offer this service with ad funded and as a subscription based service. Business customers will use these services as a hosted subscription service and through existing volume licensing agreements. Microsoft will show a private technology preview of the Office Web applications later this year. The pricing model hasn’t been announced yet.

On July 2, 2008 Microsoft announced that it will release an all-in-one software subscription package Microsoft Equipt offers consumers Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Windows Live OneCare, Windows Live tools and Office Live Workspace. Microsoft Equipt customers will get the version upgrades as part of their subscriptions. This is the first time when Microsoft come with the concept of of Software as Service. Now Let’s compare both Google services and Microsoft Equipt.
Email and Online Storage: Both Microsoft’s Hotmail and Google’s Gmail offers a sufficient amount of storage. Both E-Mail services are easy to use and have most of the features common in each other. Gmail offers online storage via it’s E-Mail service while Microsoft offers online storage service via it’s SkyDrive service. So while using Google you get around 5 GB of online Storage but with Microsoft services users get 5 GB Storage for E-Mail and 5 GB online storage space.
Office Applications: Google offers office application through it’s GoogleDocs and Microsoft with it’s Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Office suite has more features as compare to Google docs but collaboration is missing in Microsoft office. Google docs offers only basic functions but GoogleDocs collaboration features is best as compare to Microsoft office. Microsoft Office Live adds some collaboration but the online editing feature is missing and GoogleDocs offers a better services here.
Security: Google services as of now does not offer any security services and here Microsoft has added it’s OneCare security programs. OneCare offers a number of services like Firewall, Backup, system tuneup and many other services to it’s users.
Price: Google docs and its application yearly subscription for a single employee is cost you around $50. Microsoft Equipt offers it’s all services with just $69.99 per year.Anytime a new version of Office or Windows Live OneCare is released, Microsoft Equipt customers will get the version upgrades as part of their subscriptions.

Most of the time we think Google docs is good for us or Microsoft office. I have tried to find out the some facts about the Google docs and Microsoft office.
Google docs don’t have much to do with the image editing as compare to Microsoft office. You can’t paste image using the CTRL+C key and after inserting the image in Google docs it does not contain the original aspect ratio of the image. In Microsoft editing of image is very easy and there are a lot of functionality is also there for picture editing like you can crop the image.
Google docs don’t have much support for the table editing. You can insert the table but you can’t resize the table even you can’t delete the single column but in Microsoft office there is lot of functionality is there for table editing.
Google docs don’t have the complex data and charting functionality that are present in Microsoft Excel. Google docs are also missing the presentation capabilities that are present in Microsoft power point.
Google talks about Google docs are available on blackberry devices but Microsoft office documents are already pretty compatible with Blackberry and other mobile devices.
Microsoft office suite cost around $120 for three computers so for one computer it cost around $40. Now Microsoft releases its new office suit every three so the cost per year is around $14.Now Google docs and its application yearly subscription for a single employee is cost you around $50.
Only place Google docs is leading Microsoft office that their collaboration and sharing in that field Microsoft also introduced its Microsoft office live Workspace. It’s a complete hype that is created by Internet companies that all the products that are made by Microsoft are not good and they are stealing your money.
