Microsoft Mac Business unit releases the latest version of MSN Messenger for Mac. This new updated version of MSN Messenger is released after the two month of MSN Messenger release. MSN Messenger for Mac 7.0.1 improves support for users of the Voice Over feature in Mac OS X, enhanced compatibility with the Office Communications Server 2007 and it fixes user interface issues that appear when Messenger is used with some European languages.

This new updated version lacks two important features

• Audio Call

• Video Conferencing

Microsoft gives indications that it will provide support for VoIP and video calls between Windows and Mac users, but there is no timetable has been decided.

Important: Messenger for Mac 7.0.1 does not work with Live Communications Server 2005. If your organization uses Live Communications Server 2005, you should use Messenger for Mac Version 6.0.

MSN Messenger for Mac 7 is now available for download from Microsoft website.Messenger for Mac 7 is an integrated communications client that enables you to communicate with contacts within and outside your organization. Messenger for Mac 7 is a Universal application that is built to run on both PowerPC-based and Intel-based Macs and makes it easy to take advantage of the full power of real-time communications. It’s final non beta release but the final version of MSN Messenger for Mac 7 doesn’t bring much of the changes from the current version MSN Messenger.

If your company has Office Communications Server 2007 and Messenger for Mac 7 installed within your corporate network, you can participate in face-to-face meetings with co-workers in other cities, countries, or on Windows PCs using multi-party audio and video conferencing.

For corporate users, increased support for Office Communications Server 2007 makes it easy to search a corporate address book from within Messenger and quickly find internal contacts and their presence information. With corporate users each having an account on your corporate network, communications are more protected.

Thanks to Mac OS X Bonjour instant networking technology, people will be able to see if you’re on the local network. New “presence” enhancements in Messenger for Mac 7 include the ability to add a personal message to your contact information, so co-workers will know more about when you’re available to chat.
