PayPal has added another layer of security to their accounts with Security key. PayPal Security Key creates random temporary security codes that is being used along with  your PayPal username and password. PayPal security key comes in two types

• Security key token: Security Key Token generates a unique security in every 30 seconds. users has to enter this key along with their username and password in order to get access to their PayPal account.
• Mobile phone security key: Mobile security Key means PayPal users will get a security key on their mobile phone via the text messages called as SMS. The PayPal SMS Security Key is available now to customers in the U.S., Australia, Austria, Canada, and Germany.

Security Tokens will be charged at $5 for per token and their is no monthly charge for security token. In case of replacement of token PayPal will charge the same amount while PayPal Mobile Phone Security key will be offer with free of cost  except your mobile provider’s standard text messaging charges.
