mcafee_logo_readerszone_thumb mp3 Files are not safe :According to McAfee Now attackers are using media files like mp3, mpg and other format of media files to inject Trojan and other malicious software’s into the victim computers. Some days back infected mp3 files are spread over the Internet by some peer to peer networks. After downloading the media file, which can be of either MP3 or MPG form, when users try to play it, they will be prompted to download a file dubbed “PLAY_MP3.exe”. Victims should realize that the downloaded “music” or “video” file is actually fake and that no media file would be rendered. McAfee users will be fully protected of this Trojan horse after a virus definitions update. If you come in contact with any of these files, the McAfee Antivirus will recognize it as a Trojan horse dubbed Downloader-UA.h.

Do Not Download XP SP3 and Windows 7 from Torrent Trackers

windows_xp_sp3_readerszone Do Not Download XP SP3 and Windows 7 from Torrent TrackersLooking Free download for Windows XP or Windows 7 and finally find in some torrent website please don’t download these softwares from torrent websites. Torrents web sites basically allow you to download pirated copies of software using the P2P concepts this is most easy way for any hacker to enter to your system. When people heard about successor windows named as “Windows 7″ many of us try to download the illegal copies of Windows 7 but is not yet confirmed by Microsoft when Windows 7 will be available. Latest Example is Windows XP sp3 RC2 build 5503. This was a private development milestone from the Redmond company that got leaked, and made its way onto torrent trackers being advertised as the RTM build of the third and last service pack for XP. At that time, Microsoft warned against downloading code from third-party sources citing security reasons. According to Sophos, Microsoft was right to be concerned.

Torrents are also used to find out the serial number or keygen for softwares. Most of the times these are not keygens they are harmful viruses,Trojan or any harmful software that can infect your computer system. If you try to search Sophos keygen and Linux keygen you will find a lot of search results giving you the keygen for Sophos and Linux but these products does not require any type of serial number. You will finallu got these harmful viruses

Apple Lags behind Microsoft

apple_lags_microsoft_readerszone Apple Lags behind MicrosoftWhat is it “Apple lags behind Microsoft” ya its true. Companies like Google, Apple and other online vendors creates a hype that what ever Microsoft will do will harm you. I found some very interesting facts about both Microsoft and Apple computer.Researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology looked at how many times over the past six years the two vendors were able to have a patch available on the day a vulnerability became publicly known, which they call the 0-day patch rate they analyzed 658 vulnerabilities affecting Microsoft products and 738 affecting Apple. Apple was 20% below for patching up the vulnerability as compare to Microsoft.

This study also give a fair idea that Microsoft is able to analyzed the problem at very early stage and Microsoft analyst has enough information for their security issues.Apple only started patching 0-day vulnerabilities in late 2003. Past few years Microsoft has tried to cultivate a closer relationship with security communities in order to help researchers to get know about know the software problems. Apple does not have same sort of relationship as of now. However, the study proved to be such a glowing affirmation of Microsoft’s increased focus on security in the past few years.

Recently Apple also violates its own EULA for Safari. Safari EULA said it can only be installed on any Apple Computer which also has Apple’s hardware. Take look at this picture.

How to Scan Computer For viruses

How_to_Scan_Computer_For_Virus_readerszone How to Scan Computer For viruses To keep your system working fine we all do some regular tasks including scan for virus, backup and create restore points.(all these activities are related to windows operating system). Before performing our regular system if we if follow these simple steps then we can remove more virus and other harmful files from our computer.

Before starting the system scan turn off or disable the System Restore, in Microsoft Windows xp and Microsoft Windows ME the folder _Restore is protected by default.Antivirus cannot remove virus or any malicious files inside _Restore folder. Windows prevents outside programs, including antivirus programs, from modifying System Restore. The System Restore feature is not designed to detect or scan for virus infections or virus activity.

Update your antivirus software with latest virus definitions. All antivirus software come with the auto update. its better to set auto update enable instead of manual update.

Backup system registry before editing the system registry.System registry contains information and settings for all the hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software, users, preferences of the PC, etc. Any wrong changes will lead you to more problems.

Restart your system in safe mode and perform the full system scan. When windows is running in safe mode it has reduced functionality but the task of isolating the problems is easy because most of the core services are not running or disabled. After the successful full system virus scan delete all these registry values from the system registry
