Many of the times you heard so many things related to web sites that they so much amount of hits, page view is increased so much, they have? 1Million? unique? visitors and many more terms, have you ever think what does it mean.. let’s have a closer look to all these terms and there meaning in web analysis.
1. Hits : Any request for any file located in the server is count as the hit. Pages contain more files like CSS, JAVA Script and image files have more hits as compared to pages that won’t have these files included.
2. Page View: Page view is the event of loading a web page completely in your web browser.It differ from the page request where clicking any link will increase the page request of hit counter.
3. User Session: A user session typically is the activity done by user in particular time. it may be hit or page view. Generally in web sites user session start when a user login and terminate when the logoff, if user forget to log off the session will be terminated after 30 minutes.
4. Unique Visitors: Unique Visitor refer to a user who visit web site more then once in a particular period of time. Unique visitors are generally find by their IP Address.
5. Bounce Rate: The percentage of entrances on a web page that result in an immediate exit from the web site.
6. Conversion: An action that signifies a completion of a specified activity. For many sites, a user converts if they buy a product, sing up for a newsletter, or download a file. The conversion rate is the percentage of visitors who do convert. Cookie deletion can have an impact on your conversion rate because if a cookie is being systematically deleted, repeat visitor rates will be under-counted and new visitor rates will be over-counted, thus skewing the conversion rate metric by which you analyze your site’s overall effectiveness
7. Traffic Source: Traffic Source means how visitors are coming to the web site. visitors can come to web site by the URL or they can come from some other web sites this called as referral or they can come to web site by using the? search engine
