Before performing our regular system if we if follow these simple steps then we can remove more virus and other harmful files from our computer.

Before starting the system scan turn off or disable the System Restore, in Microsoft Windows xp and Microsoft Windows ME the folder _Restore is protected by default.Antivirus cannot remove virus or any malicious files inside _Restore folder. Windows prevents outside programs, including antivirus programs, from modifying System Restore. The System Restore feature is not designed to detect or scan for virus infections or virus activity.

Update your antivirus software with latest virus definitions. All antivirus software come with the auto update. its better to set auto update enable instead of manual update.

Backup system registry before editing the system registry.System registry contains information and settings for all the hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software, users, preferences of the PC, etc. Any wrong changes will lead you to more problems.

Restart your system in safe mode and perform the full system scan. When windows is running in safe mode it has reduced functionality but the task of isolating the problems is easy because most of the core services are not running or disabled. After the successful full system virus scan delete all these registry values from the system registry
