  • Run "gpedit.msc"
  • Go to Computer Configuration | Administrative Template | Windows Components | Windows Update
  • Then double click ‘No auto-restart for scheduled Automatic Updates installations’ and choose ‘Enabled’ in the settings window.

    I wish this could be done with WinXP home… nothing more anoying than playing WoW and being in a 25 man raid and poof wondows is rebooting from a forced update.
