Create a font from your own handwriting

FontCapture is a new service that allows you to create fonts from your own handwriting. There’s no software to download and install, all you need is a printer and a scanner. Simply fill in the font template, scan and upload it to our website, and download your completed font. The fonts you create using fontcapture can be used on both Windows and Mac computers.

How to Create Font from Handwriting.?

Step 1: Print font template

The first step is to download and print the font template. It’s in PDF format, so you’ll need a PDF reader like Acrobat Reader to open it.

Step 2: Complete the font template

After printing the font template, it’s time to fill it in with your own handwriting. For best results it’s recommended to use a black marker pen (Sharpie or similar). Make sure to leave a margin around each character.

Step 3: Upload your completed font template

After completing the font template, it’s time to scan it. Here’s a few tips on how to achieve good results:

  • Set your scanner to operate in grayscale or color mode at 200 DPI or higher.
  • Save the scanned image in PNG (preferred) or JPG format.
  • Make sure you don’t scan the template upside down. If you do, rotate the image 180 degrees using an image editor.
