Yahoo is about to release a new tool for it’s search service helping users to organize their search results. Yahoo search pad in built in application with Yahoo Search and when ever you perform searches on Yahoo search it automatically assists you in saving websites you visit and taking notes as you search. Search Pad helps you collect, edit, organize, save, print, and email your notes for immediate or future use.
How to Use Yahoo Search Pas?
Search Pad can be found on the upper right-hand side of the Yahoo! Search results page, underneath the Yahoo! logo.
To use Search Pad:

Search as you normally do.

Search Pad will automatically record the sites you click on.

Search Pad will intelligently detect when you’re researching on a particular topic and ask you if you want to take notes with a prompt (see below).
By default Yahoo search pad is on, but you can also turn it off.
Turn Off Temporarily – Use the Turn Off option from the drop down menu in the Search Pad application. This turns Search Pad off for your current session only. You can turn it back on by clicking on the Search Pad bar.
Permanently Disable – To set Search Pad as always off for all your search sessions:

Click the Options link within any search results page.

Click Preferences from the dropdown menu.

Look for the Search Pad section and click Edit.

Click Disabled and then Save.
Yahoo is making a good move here by trying to introduce something to improve its search service. The leading theory it seemed was that Yahoo would lose out to Bing on that number two spot and no one was really sure if they would focus on search any longer.
This at least lets it be known that Yahoo still considers search an important enough part of its services to continue to grow. Which should make it’s shareholders happy for whatever its worth.
Couple this with news of all of Microsoft’s new partnerships and additions and it looks like the search industry might begin to pick up with a new fire being lid underneath the challengers to Google’s throne.
It looks like the search industry is getting to the point where innovation and advancements should become a frequent occurrence because companies are trying to be the leader. It might yet take years for a real game changer to surface but it’s at promising to know it could happen.
